First time together with several new players and 3 guest
players filling in for vacations. Very tough
competition, but saw some good things to build on. The
way to measure your team is to play against the best.
We took on the best teams in the region and learned a ton.
Sunday's game was actually our best - very competitive until
mid-second half when fatigue and the heat got the better of
us. |

After leading the Renegades 1-0 at half, we had a 10 minute
period at the beginning of the second half where we lost
organization in the midfield which allowed a tying goal.
The Renegades followed with a second quick goal before we
could regain control.To our credit,
the team kept the ball in our attacking half for the final
20 minutes and managed several shots on goal, one of which
went in - at least the players from BOTH teams thought went
in - but was not judged completely across the line.
The game ended with the Renegades scoring a third goal after
we pushed everyone forward.
The Renegades went on the win the
tournament with a 4-0 victory over the Kansas Rush Blue. |
